The Granary at Moat Farm offers an ideal retreat for a romantic getaway or a peaceful countryside holiday for two, at any time of year.
This charming single-storey farm building, complete with traditional rafted ceilings, has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. The open-plan living and kitchen area features a welcoming wood burner—perfect for cosy winter evenings—alongside a comfortable sofa and armchairs, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine. The spacious bedroom boasts a super king-size bed (convertible to two singles on request) and a newly fitted ensuite shower room with WC.
Original high beamed ceilings run throughout the property, giving it a fresh, cosy countryside atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped with all essential appliances—including a cooker with hob, oven, and grill, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, and microwave—as well as crockery, cutlery, glasses, cookware, and utensils.
Outside, guests will find ample parking and a private enclosed garden with patio furniture, a barbecue, a neatly mown lawn, and a tranquil pond—perfect for long summer evenings.
The Granary is located in the quaint village of Thorndon, which has a friendly village pub and a shop selling local produce and everyday essentials. We welcome one or two small or medium well-behaved dogs, so you can enjoy the surrounding countryside walks together. To bring your dog(s), please call or email us in advance, as some conditions apply.
For safety reasons, smoking is not permitted inside The Granary. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside and use the sand-filled buckets provided for safely disposing of cigarette ends.
