Accommodation Overview
Polruan is a charming period coastal house, once the home of a sea captain, and now a welcoming, pet-friendly property that comfortably sleeps up to ten guests. Set in the heart of New Quay, the house enjoys stunning sea views and is just a short stroll from the harbour, sandy beaches, restaurants, pubs and independent shops.
Recently refurbished to a high standard, Polruan retains many original features that preserve its old-world charm while offering modern comfort throughout. Outside, the garden provides a lovely space to relax, complete with a large picnic table and a heated outdoor shower — perfect after a day at the beach.
The Space
The property offers parking for two cars at the rear. Enter the house via the back courtyard, which features a picnic table, an outdoor shower, and a hose. From the courtyard, step through the back door into the large, open-plan modern kitchen and dining area. At the rear of the kitchen, a utility room houses the fridge, washing machine, and tumble dryer, with an adjoining door leading to a separate toilet. Off the dining area, there is a dedicated room for dogs to sleep.
From the dining area, the hallway leads to two downstairs lounges, one with a double sofa bed. Both lounges feature modern TVs and electric fires, creating comfortable spaces to relax.
Upstairs, the first floor offers a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower, roll-top bath, double sinks, and toilet. There are two king bedrooms — one with an en-suite shower — and a bunk bedroom, ideal for children.
The second floor features a spacious attic bedroom with flexible sleeping arrangements (super-king or twin beds) and a seating area, perfect for taking in the stunning sea views.
Step outside and head down the hill to enjoy New Quay’s shops, pubs, restaurants, coastal paths, and beautiful beaches — all just a short walk away.
