Inside the Cottage

Holly Cottage has been thoughtfully designed to combine rustic character with modern comforts.

The ground floor features a welcoming open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, creating a sociable space for everyone to spend time together. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, making everything from a quick breakfast to a family dinner easy to prepare.

The comfortable living area features a Freeview Smart TV with Netflix, DVD player and a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere on cooler evenings. Guests are asked not to use candles or tea lights anywhere within the property.

A separate utility room provides a washing machine and an additional toilet, while the external utility/boot room includes sinks and plenty of space for dealing with muddy boots and outdoor gear.

Upstairs, you’ll find two comfortable double bedrooms, each furnished with a 4ft 6in double bed, along with a third bedroom featuring bunk beds. The top bunk is suitable for children only.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, heated towel rail and WC.

Outside

Step outside into the enclosed lawned garden, complete with sitting-out areas, garden furniture and a barbecue. It’s a lovely place to enjoy a morning coffee, dine outdoors or simply relax while listening to the sounds of the surrounding woodland.

The garden is particularly well suited to families with dogs, with two dogs welcome at the property. There are fantastic walks directly from the doorstep, although dogs must be kept on a lead at all times due to the surrounding sheep country. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture or upstairs.

For cyclists, there is secure bike storage with bike racks, making Holly Cottage an excellent base for exploring the many mountain biking routes throughout the Forest of Dean. The renowned Forest of Dean Cycle Centre is also within easy reach.

What’s Included

LPG heating, including underfloor heating in the kitchen, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included. An initial supply of logs is provided for the wood burner, along with a welcome pack and doggy extras.

A highchair and stairgates are also available for families with young children.

There is private parking on the driveway for 1–2 vehicles, with additional parking for 2–3 vehicles available beside the side gate.

Located in Ellwood within the Forest of Dean, Holly Cottage provides a wonderful base for discovering one of England’s most beautiful woodland areas. Spend your days walking through the forest, spotting local wildlife, enjoying the many cycling trails or simply taking time to appreciate the peaceful surroundings.

Please note: The property is accessed via one step at the entrance. It may not be suitable for guests who require mobility assistance or mobility aids. No smoking is permitted. A maximum of two dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead at all times; dogs are not permitted on furniture or upstairs.
