This is far more than an ordinary holiday let – our guests tell us so! Cynynion Uchaf is a beautifully restored, character-filled 18th-century farmhouse, peacefully set within our private, working sheep and cattle farm.
Thoughtfully equipped and designed with groups in mind, it offers the perfect balance of shared space and peaceful retreats, making it ideal for grandparents, parents, children and friends to enjoy a memorable stay together.
- Space for Everyone: Four comfortable bedrooms sleep up to 8 guests, with the option of accommodating 10 with two additional single beds. There are also 2.5 bathrooms, plus a unique adjoining twin bedroom that’s ideal for keeping parents and young children close by.
- Room to Relax: Come together in the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, enjoy the light and airy conservatory, or settle down in the cosy lounge beside the roaring log burner.
- Peace, Privacy & Views: Enjoy your own private garden, complete with a sunny patio, small pond and spectacular panoramic views stretching across the landscapes of both England and Wales.
- A Night Off Cooking: Looking to make your stay even more relaxing? Homemade comfort meals featuring our own home-reared beef and lamb can be prepared for you by prior arrangement, subject to availability.
Accommodation Overview
The Bedrooms: Four spacious bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests across 5 beds, with two additional pull-out single beds available by prior arrangement.
The Bathrooms: A newly renovated en-suite shower room with a comfort-height WC, a family bathroom featuring a P-shaped bath and powerful mains shower, plus a convenient downstairs WC.
Entertainment & Wi-Fi: Stay connected with free Wi-Fi throughout the farmhouse. Enjoy cosy movie nights on the 50″ Smart TV in the living room, complete with Netflix and Disney+, while the master bedroom also features a Smart TV. Additional TVs are provided in the dining area and snug.
Garden & Patio: A private garden provides plenty of space to relax, with a small pond, sunny patio and dedicated BBQ area – perfect for enjoying warmer evenings outdoors.
The Essentials: Private parking with space for multiple cars, CCTV for added peace of mind, and a traditional wood burner to keep things cosy. Your first night’s logs are provided. The historic market town of Oswestry is just a 10-minute drive away.
Pets Welcome: We happily welcome up to two well-behaved pets. As Cynynion is situated on a working livestock farm, dogs must be kept on leads outside the garden and must not be left unattended.

Step outside through the back door and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the surrounding countryside of England and Wales. With so much to explore nearby, there’s something for everyone, whether you enjoy peaceful walks, cycling adventures or discovering historic trails such as Offa’s Dyke, with routes to suit all abilities.
Just a short drive away, Llangollen offers a fantastic choice of experiences, from steam train journeys and horse-drawn canal boats to exhilarating white-water rafting. History lovers can explore the ancient castles of Chirk and Powis, wander through the grounds of Erddig Hall and Attingham Park, or marvel at the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
For those who love the outdoors, discover the dramatic beauty of Llanrhaeadr Waterfall or enjoy the peaceful cycling trails around Lake Vyrnwy. Golfers are also spoilt for choice, with six local golf courses nearby. There’s plenty to enjoy further afield too, including Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, Wrexham AFC and a host of other attractions.
After a day of exploring, unwind at one of the region’s welcoming country pubs or excellent restaurants, or simply return to the farm, put your feet up and enjoy the spectacular views.
