Accommodation Overview
This charming 1900s former coal miners’ house has been lovingly renovated into a stylish and comfortable coastal retreat, combining its original character with modern comforts.
Wake up to fresh sea air, uninterrupted coastal views from every bedroom and the unmistakable sound of seagulls. Seaham’s beautiful seafront and famous sea-glass beaches are just a five-minute walk away.
Spend your days exploring the town’s independent bars and restaurants, enjoying a little luxury at Seaham Hall, walking the spectacular Durham Heritage Coast or discovering the historic city of Durham and its prestigious university.
Then return home, light the fire, settle into a cosy chair and curl up with a good book — the perfect way to end a day by the coast.
The Space
Designed as a stylish and comfortable coastal home, the house offers plenty of space for families and friends to relax, unwind and enjoy time together.
Ground Floor
The cosy lounge is centred around a log-burning stove, with comfortable sofas and chairs providing the perfect place to relax after a blustery walk along the Durham coast. Light the fire, settle in and enjoy a quiet evening together.
The separate dining room comfortably seats up to six guests, while the compact but well-equipped kitchen has everything you need, whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast or cooking dinner for the whole group.
Also on the ground floor is a modern walk-in shower room, making getting ready for the day that little bit easier — particularly when you’re travelling as a group.
Outside Space
Step outside into the private enclosed yard, which has been transformed into a welcoming outdoor retreat. With plants, comfortable seating, outdoor sofas and plenty of cushions, it’s a lovely spot to enjoy a morning coffee, relax with a book or share a drink in the evening.
First Floor
Upstairs, you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms. Two feature beautiful king-size four-poster beds, while the third has bunk beds, making it an ideal choice for children or friends sharing.
Every bedroom enjoys views towards the sea, so you can wake up to fresh coastal air, glimpses of the water and the sound of seabirds.
There is also a second modern walk-in shower room on this floor, giving the house two shower rooms in total.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of the entire house and private outdoor space throughout their stay. Make yourselves at home, relax and enjoy the house at your own pace.
Other things to note
Free on-street parking is available directly outside the property for one car. The surrounding streets are small and parking can be limited, so we kindly ask guests to park considerately and be mindful of our neighbours.
If you’re travelling with a second or third car, please use the parking available at the end of the road or on one of the nearby streets.
